The open-world design for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was led by Jameson Durall — our Founder and Principal — who shaped a living, reactive New York City from borough-level layouts and traversal flows to pedestrian traffic, ambient life, and systemic mission integration. Working closely with multiple teams, he adapted and aligned existing systems to serve the game’s world design vision.
He also spearheaded cross-department alignment, ensuring that environmental elements, mission flow, and gameplay systems worked in harmony. The result: a seamless, player-driven world where exploration felt as compelling as the story itself.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 marked a turning point in applying systemic thinking at a world scale, proving how technical infrastructure, content flow, and gameplay feel can align without compromising fun. It also highlighted the power of collaborative leadership and clear, cross-functional communication in high-pressure development.
